2022 saw the return of a women’s edition of the Tour de France for the first time in 30 years. And with a core pillar of Black Sheep’s brand built around creating opportunities for women to get ahead in the sport we thought it high time to launch our first womens-only LIMITED collection. One that would celebrate the modern female identity. And the power of sisterhood. In uniquely Black Sheep style.

Ellen Porteus x WMN.

Enter Ellen Porteus. A young artist from Melbourne with a bold, bright, eclectic look that was perfectly aligned with Black Sheep. Known for her subversive humour, Ellen’s signature style allowed us to take female tropes and flip them on their head, with a big wink, and a tongue firmly in cheek. Ellen well and truly delivered with a series of prints and repeat patterns that reward on closer look.

I was the creative through-line on the project. From initial concept, to commissioning of artist Ellen Porteus and then through the apparel design process. Concept and art direction of the final marketing campaign.
